I am both a musician and academic, an alumnae of the Guildhall School of music, where I studied the piano, and having a master’s degree from Ruskin College, Oxford. I have been playing the piano since I was four years old and teaching the piano for more than 25 years. My passion is the piano and teaching my instrument. I teach students from the age of six years with no upper age limit. Indeed, about a third of my practice is made up of adults passed the age of retirement. I welcome all ages, abilities and genres, because although I am classically trained I play various styles of jazz and am keen to introduce my students to different types of music. Versatility is my approach to imparting and encouraging my art. I give a free introductory lesson to new comers, allowing me and the new prospective student, to discover what are their expectations and abilities.
